League Rules – September 2017 v1

1 - Player Registration

  1. All players must be registered online via the Team Management page via www.bristoltouch.com

  2. Any unregistered players playing for a side, and not ‘ringing’, will lead to a maximum penalty of three league point deduction per player.

  3. Each player can only be registered with one side in the league (from January 2018) – This does not apply to those playing in the NBA side.

  4. Any one player can only play a maximum of two games per league night (one with their registered side, one as a ringer)

2 - Team Numbers

  1. There needs to be a minimum of four players per side for a game to start. Rule 4 will come into play if a delay to the start of the game is caused by not having the minimum to start.

  2. A minimum of four registered players (non-ringers) from a team are required to have played in a game for the score to stand.

Maximum penalty: The offending team will be awarded a 5:0 loss (5:0 win to the opposition), and will not receive a league appearance point.

3 - Borrowing of players (Ringers)

  1. If a team has less than seven players in their squad for a game, they may borrow players (ringers) to take them up to seven (they can have a sub).

  2. If a team borrows more than one ringer, they can’t be from the same team.

  3. If a ringer has played at regional or higher level in the past two years, the team will only be allowed to have six players for the game (no sub).

  4. Ringers cannot swap with another ringer at half time. They must play for the whole game. If they have to leave before the end, they cannot be replaced.

4 - Game Start time

  1. Games will start at the allocated start time, and cannot be delayed for a team.

  2. If a team is not on field ready to start at the allocated time and cause a delay, one score will be awarded to the opposition after one minute, and then one additional score will be awarded for every two minutes the team is still not present up to a maximum of five scores (nine minutes).

  3. After nine minutes the game will be abandoned and the absent team will be awarded an automatic 5:0 loss, and will not receive a league appearance point. The opposition will be awarded a 5:0 win.

5 - Cancellation of games

  1. If a team cannot fulfil a fixture, they will get an automatic 5:0 loss, will not receive a league appearance point. The opposition will be awarded a 5:0 win.

  2. In the result of the venue, or weather games forcing a cancellation, where possible, games will be played on a rearranged date. If this is not possible, games will be entered as a 0:0 draw.

6 - Abandonment of games

  1. Should a game have be abandoned with less than 50% of the game played, where possible, the game will be replayed. If this is not possible, games will be entered as a 0:0 draw.

  2. If a game is abandoned with more than 50% played, the score, at the time of abandonment, will stand as the final result.
